Mark takes immense pleasure in unveiling the beauty of his haven to travelers. He also expertly navigates the waters as our seasoned skipper. His passion for the sea is a family legacy, passed down from his father and grandfather who once ran fishing tours in the Queen Charlotte Sound. Mark has a deep admiration for the Sounds, declaring them as some of the most picturesque waters he has ever fished in.
Since 1993, Maria has been unveiling Marlborough’s charm to visitors. Balancing her roles as a mother of three, the Marketing Manager, and Accounts Clerk at Sounds Connection, Maria relishes her free time playing netball and savoring Marlborough wine. Despite her busy schedule, she never misses an opportunity to tour and highlight the breathtaking Marlborough region.
For the past 25 years, Sarah has been a vital part of Sounds Connection, working closely with her twin sister Maria and brother-in-law Mark after moving from England. As our versatile “jack of all trades,” she handles bookings and inquiries, and when she’s not in the office, she’s often leading our clients on tours to explore Marlborough’s finest.
Our ever-cheerful Emily is likely to be your first port of call as she can be found at the Sounds Connection office, answering your calls and email enquiries. Emily loves the people and experiences that Marlborough has to offer - and enjoys introducing this to Sounds Connection clients. When not answering calls and taking bookings, Emily can be found updating our Facebook page, working on new brochures or ordering oil for Mark’s boat!
Hamish has a mechanical trade background and spends a lot of time preening our vehicles and making sure they are running smoothly. He drives tours and works in the office. He also loves joining the fishing excursions as that is a passion of his too. He's already at his young age spent nearly 30 years training on fishing charters with his Dad and before that his Grandad "Buddy".
Gabby has recently joined the Sounds Connection team from Newcastle upon Tyne. She loves to travel, being with her friends, and is especially enjoying her stint living in Picton. Gabby is the friendly voice on the end of the phone taking your bookings and answering your questions. When she’s not organising tours, Gabby keeps us up to date with Instagram.
